Week 30 and 31 (2017) Update

The stocks in the Fusarium tunnel are now starting to show classic symptoms of the early stages of the disease (see photos below) and you would not want to see this level of infection in your commercial crop.

The Ammi majus is now in full flower (see left hand photo) and the Ammi visnaga (see right hand photo) is probably about a week away from flowering.

The 2017 planting of the veronica has almost finished its first flush, just a few stems of the pink left (see left hand photo) and the second flush of the 2016 planting is almost ready for cropping (see right hand photo).

The first planting of the lily media trial is now well into bud and the second planting is now growing away well.

Both the Danziger and Hilverda series of Scabious are now in flower.  While the plants do not seem to have grown as well as last year, the Scoop raspberry is standing out as producing the strongest stems of any of the varieties.

A late planting of both the grasses (left hand photo) and Ammi was made in week 30 but unfortunately some have budded up early. A single stem planting of a new green trachelium was also made early in week 30. (right hand photo).

The annual dianthus have almost finished flowering (left hand photo) and the Gomphrena (right hand photo) are now producing long enough stems although not as prolifically as they were last year at this stage.

AND FINALLY, DON’T FORGET THE OUT OPEN DAY IS NEXT WEDNESDAY (9TH AUGUST AT 5.30)
