Here we go again!!

26 April, 2015 by lyndon

Its that time of year again – the tunnels have been covered, the soil cultivated and the first of the plants will soon be arriving for the start of the 2015 CFC trials programme.

Things are looking quite good after the winter, the hardy foliage is sprouting away after being cut back in March, the alstro is throwing a mass of new shoots and the other perennials are all growing away well.

The first of the trials will be direct seeded fillers (is bupleurum, carthamus, Ammi, Cosmos etc) and these will be sown in one of the Spanish tunnels in the very near future.  The trachelium and Hilverda dianthus should also be arriving very soon.  As usual we have an extensive trials programme for this year so watch this space for further details!
