Week 18 update

10 May, 2014 by lyndon

This week we have got the aster ericoides and Zinnia planted in the tunnels.  The aster ericoides have been grown in 1lt pots and pinched in week 16, hence at planting they are large, vigorous plants which are already throwing shoots.  We will black these out when they are about 50cms tall and would expect them to flower in July hence allowing time for a second round before the end of the season.

We have again used the very promising Benary varieties of Zinnias with a view to determining once and for all if they can stand up to the rigours of the supermarket supply chain as regards both neck strength and overall vase life!
