Week 20 (2019) Update

2 June, 2019 by lyndon

The perennials  are growing well and the Astrantia has produced its first flush of flowers.  These are very impressive albeit a little short at the moment with a stem length of 35 to 40 cm.  However having taken advice from the breeder, we have been advised that as the plant bulk increases, the stem length will also increase.  We will report back on this later in the season.

The Scabious potted up in week 11 are now well branched and vigorous plants.  These have now been planted out  into beds in one of the tunnels and it is hoped that they will be in flower by the time of the Open Day on the 17th of July.
