Week 20 update

19 May, 2014 by lyndon

At last the weather just fell right and in week 20 we were able to get the ADAS aster herbicide trial planted and the seeded crop drilled.  This  stage of the trial is investigating alternatives for Ronstar on both transplanted and direct seeded asters. The herbicides will be applied to the direct seeded crop early in week 21 and it will then be covered over with polythene for a week or two in order to aid germination.

The lily herbicide trial was also planted in one of our Spanish tunnels using the variety White Dynamite and White Triumph.

In June we will also be sowing Sweet Williams and wallflowers, again in an attempt to find alternatives to Ronstar.
