Week 32 update

16 August, 2014 by lyndon

Been a frantically busy week getting ready for our very successful Open Day on Wednesday which attracted over 7o people!  Once the Open Day had passed we had to harvest and assess a lot of the trials that we had held onto until the event including the aster and lily herbicide trial, the indoor alstoemeria, trachelium, delphinium and some of the seed raised fillers including the first sowing of bupleurum.  Three of the blacked out aster varieties (ie Chicago, Cape Town and Cairo) have also been harvested and cut right back.  These will no be fed and kept very well watered to encourage the second flush.  The Zinnia continue to grow away well from the bacterial infection and regular samples are being sent for vase life testing.

A copy of the Open Day hand out can be obtained by clicking on the following link –   2014 Open day handout
