Week 24 update

16 June, 2014 by lyndon

The crops continue to grow well and the foliage has really benefited from the severe pruning in the early spring!  Additional sowing of the fillers have been made including 3 different forms of Carthamus.  The week 21 sowing of fillers has germinated well and  the plants are now starting to grow away.  The lily alternative media trial had now been taken out of the cold store and housed amongst the commercial crop at EM Cole Farms Ltd.  Its early days yet but most treatments are showing good emergence and the trial will be repeated in a couple of weeks time using a different variety.  And finally for now, the 2014 Open Day will be in the evening of the 6th August so put it in your diaries now.
