Week 25 (2019) Update

1 July, 2019 by lyndon

The Fusarium column variety trial continues to show marked differences between varieties and at this stage it looks like some plots may even produce marketable stems.  Regular assessments are being made and the summary of these will be presented at the Open Day on the 17th of July.

Bulrush have again sponsored a trial to investigate peat free or peat reduced composts for the production of boxed lilies. Three mixes plus an industry standard are being investigated this year and these were boxed up this week.

The last planting of the Japanese column stock variety trial was planted this week.  The week 19 planting looks like they will flower in the next week or two and are looking superb despite  flea beetle has taking a lot of controlling this year which has resulted in some leaf damage.
